    Zeytinyağlı Biber Dolması (Stuffed Green Peppers)




      MATERIALS

      • 1 cup rice
      • 5 green peppers (small-mid size)
      • 3 onions
      • 1 tomato
      • 2 tablespoons of pine nuts
      • 3 tablespoons of currants
      • ½ cups olive oil
      • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
      • 1 + ½ cups hot water
      • ½ fresh bunch mint if not 2 tablespoon dried mint is ok
      • ½ bunch of parsley
      • 1 teaspoon dried basil
      • 1 teaspoon Allspice
      • ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
      • Salt and pepper

      PREPARATION

      1. In a saucepan mix ½ cup olive oil with pine nuts and cook until pink.
      2. Add finely chopped onions and cook over a bit.
      3. Add rice, currants salt and sugar and cook 2 minutes in love heat
      4. Add pepper, mint, dried basil, allspice and cinnamon , mix it well
      5. Bring heat to high add ½ cup hot water and cook for 3 minutes
      6. Let the saucepan cool off without the cover
      7. Wash and clean the peppers. Remove the seeds
      8. Fill the peppers with the interior materials cooked in the saucepan, put tomatoe slices on top of the peppers to close the openings.
      9. Place in a pot.
      10. Put ½ cup olive oil in the pot and add 1 cup hot water.
      11. Cook until the peppers are tender
      12. Once cooked let it cool off all the way before serving
      13. Enjoy!
